Weight management with GLP-1

A supervised three-step assessment before any prescription weight-management treatment.

We offer a supervised assessment pathway for people who want to explore a medical weight-management treatment, including medications in the GLP-1 class.

These medications are not right for everyone. A full assessment is needed to determine whether this approach is safe, appropriate and suited to your health situation.

Step 1: Pre-consultation

At this step, we look in particular at:

The first step is a pre-consultation with our team. This meeting gathers the information needed before the medical consultation.

  • Your weight-management goal and your expectations.
  • Your weight, your height and your body mass index (BMI).
  • Your personal and family medical history.
  • Your current health conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid or digestive disorders, as the case may be.
  • The medications, supplements and treatments you are currently taking.
  • Your eating habits, your level of physical activity and your weight-management history.
  • Possible contraindications or anything that needs particular medical attention.
  • The information needed to prepare your file for the consultation with the physician.

This pre-consultation is not a medical prescription. It determines whether a consultation with the physician is indicated and explains the next steps of the process.

Step 2: Medical consultation

If your file meets the preliminary criteria, a consultation with a physician will be arranged.

The physician will carry out a full medical assessment, discuss the possible options and determine whether GLP-1 treatment is appropriate for you. The prescription remains entirely at the discretion of the treating physician, according to your health, your needs and the applicable medical criteria.

If needed, the physician may order lab tests, recommend additional follow-up or suggest another approach to weight management.

Step 3: Personalized follow-up

Follow-up can include:

When a treatment is prescribed, regular follow-up matters, to assess your tolerance, your results and your progress.

  • A review of how your weight is changing and of your goals.
  • A review of possible side effects and of how well you tolerate the treatment.
  • Adjustment of the treatment plan by the physician, when required.
  • Support with eating habits, hydration, protein intake and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Referral to other health professionals when needed.

Important

GLP-1 treatments are prescription medications and must always be used under the supervision of a health professional. Results vary from person to person and no specific result can be guaranteed.

This service does not replace regular medical care. Any prescription, dose change or clinical decision rests solely with the physician.
