LipsVolume, asymmetry and hydration
Lips that are more hydrated, slightly fuller or better balanced, without necessarily aiming for a large increase. The treatment is adapted to your natural shape, your proportions and the result you want.
Hyaluronic acid can be used to add subtle volume, restore volume lost over time, correct an asymmetry, gently redefine the lip border or hydrate the lips from within. It can also help soften the small vertical lines above the upper lip, often called “smoker’s lines”, even in people who have never smoked. These lines can appear with repeated lip movement, collagen loss, sun exposure and the natural ageing of the skin.
The most common fear is leaving with lips that are too big or that no longer look like your own face. A natural result depends above all on the amount injected, where the product is placed and respect for your anatomy. It is possible to start with very little product and adjust gradually as needed.
How the treatment works
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in the body. When injected into the lips, their border or the fine lines around the mouth, it attracts water and brings hydration, support and volume.
Before the treatment, we assess the shape of your lips, their balance with the rest of your face, any asymmetries, the quality of the skin around the mouth and the result you would like. The goal can be very subtle (hydrate, define, balance or soften lines) or more volumizing, depending on your preference.
A topical numbing cream or an injectable local anesthetic can be applied to minimize discomfort. The session lasts about 30 minutes.
Results and recovery
The result is visible immediately. The lips and the area around the mouth may, however, be slightly swollen, tender or show small bruises during the first 24 to 48 hours. The final result settles gradually as the swelling goes down.
Most people can return to work and their usual activities the same day. Results generally last 6 to 9 months, depending on your metabolism, the type of product used, the amount injected and the area treated.
