Non-surgical blepharoplastyFirming the upper eyelid with Plasma IQ

Closed eyelids and brows of a woman in her sixties

When the skin of the upper eyelid becomes thinner, crinkled or slightly loose, the eyes can look tired or heavier. Plasma IQ is a non-surgical firming approach that can help tighten eyelid skin, with no incision, no stitches and no surgery.

This treatment is particularly suited to people with mild to moderate laxity of the eyelid skin who want a natural, gradual result without surgery.

How does Plasma IQ work?

Plasma IQ uses precise plasma energy, created just above the skin. The tip does not cut the skin and does not enter the tissue: it produces very small, controlled treatment points on the skin surface.

These micro-points make the treated skin contract and stimulate the skin’s natural repair process. Over the following weeks, collagen production gradually helps improve the firmness, texture and appearance of the skin.

The goal is not to change your eyes, but to reduce the appearance of slight excess skin and create a more open, rested and refreshed look.

Areas treated

Plasma IQ can be used to treat certain small areas of laxity or fine lines on the face, including:

  • Upper eyelid: slightly drooping or crinkled skin.
  • Lower eyelid: fine lines and thin skin, depending on the assessment.
  • Crow’s feet and fine lines around the eyes.
  • Vertical lines above the upper lip, commonly called “smoker’s lines”.
  • Some localized fine lines around the mouth.

For a non-surgical blepharoplasty, the most frequently treated area is the upper eyelid.

Are you a good candidate?

Plasma IQ can be a good option when the main issue is a mild to moderate excess of skin on the upper eyelid. It suits people who want to avoid or postpone surgery while accepting a visible healing period.

It does not always replace a surgical blepharoplasty. When the excess skin is significant, when fat pads are present, when the brow has dropped or when the eyelid structure needs to be repositioned, surgery may be more appropriate.

A personalized consultation confirms whether Plasma IQ can offer a realistic result in your situation and whether your skin type suits this treatment.

The procedure and recovery

A topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment. The procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area treated and the extent of the laxity.

A protocol of 2 to 3 sessions is generally recommended for optimal improvement. Sessions are spaced out to let the skin heal and the collagen remodel gradually.

After the treatment, very small dark crusts appear at the treatment points. They are a normal part of healing and must fall off on their own: do not scratch or remove them. Swelling, especially on the eyelids during the first few days, is normal and expected.

Careful sun protection is essential after the treatment to reduce the risk of pigmentation. Home care and precise instructions will be explained at your appointment.

Before and after

Results vary with the degree of laxity, skin quality, skin type and the natural healing response. The final result settles in gradually as the skin repairs itself and the collagen reorganizes.

A consultation is needed to assess your eyelid, discuss your expectations and determine whether Plasma IQ is the most appropriate and safest option for your eyes.
