Under-eye circlesHollow or dark?

Close-up of a woman in her late forties, natural skin under the eyes

Not all under-eye circles are treated the same way. They can be caused by volume loss under the eye, by a blue or purplish colouring linked to microcirculation, or by a combination of both.

That is why concealer does not always fix the problem: it cannot fill a hollow, and it can turn grey over a bluish area.

Hollow under-eye

A hollow under-eye appears when support or volume is lost between the lower lid and the cheek. That shadow can make the eyes look tired, even when you are well rested.

A very soft hyaluronic acid, selected specifically for this delicate area, can help smooth the transition between the eye and the cheek. The goal is not to inflate the area, but to reduce the shadow caused by the hollow, to refresh the eyes naturally.

  • Generally 1 to 2 sessions.
  • A result visible quickly, then more harmonious once the product settles.
  • Results that can last about 12 to 18 months.

Dark under-eye

A dark under-eye can have several causes: very thin skin letting blood vessels show through, less efficient microcirculation, or a pigment component. When it is mainly blue or purplish, adding volume is not always enough to correct the colour.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) uses a small amount of your own blood. After centrifugation, the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the target area to support skin quality and gradually improve the appearance of the under-eye.

Results are gradual and usually require a series of treatments. The response varies with the cause: PRP can be particularly useful for certain vascular under-eye circles and for thin or crinkled skin, but on its own it does not clear every type of hyperpigmentation. Available studies often suggest 3 to 6 sessions about a month apart, with a result that usually begins to show after 4 to 6 weeks.

The right treatment

During the consultation, we assess the dominant cause of your under-eye circles in order to choose the most suitable approach:

If your dark circle is mostly…The preferred approach
Hollow, shadowed or marked by a lid-to-cheek transitionSoft hyaluronic acid suited to the eye contour
Bluish, purplish, with thin or crinkled skinPRP, depending on the assessment
Both hollow and darkA personalised combination of treatments can be considered

Every eye contour is different. An assessment is essential, particularly in this delicate area, to determine whether hyaluronic acid, PRP, another technology or a combination will give the most natural and safest result.
